Overview and Scrutiny is the process whereby Executive decision-makers are held to account by non-Executive Councillors.

The Committee has an important role to play in the Council’s policy development process and is responsible for carrying out the statutory health scrutiny function. It undertakes the policy overview role in relation to a range of matters including older people’s services, adult social care, support for vulnerable people, public health and housing.
