The Committee received and considered a report of the Director of Sustainable Communities providing an update on the work undertaken by Public Protection against the Health and Safety (as a regulator) Service Plan in relation to the regulation of Health and Safety at work in the Central Bedfordshire area. The report also detailed a Dynamic Intervention Planning Summary table 2012 – 2014.

 

RESOLVED

 

That the work undertaken by the Public Protection Team against the Health and Safety (as a regulator) Service Plan in relation to the regulation of Health and Safety at work in the Central Bedfordshire area be noted.

Exclusion of Press and Public

To consider whether to pass a resolution under 100A of the Local Government Act 1972 to exclude the Press and Public from the meeting for the following items of business on the grounds that the consideration of the item is likely to involve the disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraph 1 of Part 1 Schedule 12A of the Act.

RESOLVED

 

That in accordance with Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act 1972 the public be excluded from the meeting for the following item of business on the grounds that it involves the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraph 1 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act.

 

 

21.

Application For a Hackney Carriage Licence

To make a decision whether or not to grant a Hackney Carriage Licence to Mr S S A S in view of the age of the vehicle.

Minutes:

 

The Committee received and considered a report of the Director of Sustainable Communities seeking a decision whether or not to grant a Hackney Carriage licence to My S S A S in view of the age of the vehicle.

 

RESOLVED

 

(1)   that the application for a Hackney Carriage Vehicle Licence submitted by Mr S S A S be refused in this case under the provisions of the Local Government Act 1976, as the Committee does not consider the vehicle to be of exceptional condition;

 

(2)   that the Applicant be informed in writing of his right to appeal against this decision to the Crown Court and that the appeal must be made within 21 days of written notification of this decision.

 

 

22.

Application for a Private Hire Operator Licence

To make a decision whether or not to grant a Private Hire Operator licence to Mr S I in view of the location of the proposed premises.

The Committee received and considered a report of the Director of Sustainable Communities which sought a decision whether or not to grant a Private Hire Operator Licence to Mr S I in view of the location of the proposed Operator premises.

 

RESOLVED

 

That the application for the grant of a Private Hire Operators Licence submitted be granted to Mr S I being reminded of his responsibilities to comply with the conditions of the Licence and that the Council has the powers under the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1972.

 

That in addition to the standard Condition attached to a licence the applicant be requested to obtain a separate telephone line/number for the operation of this business and particular licence.
