RESOLVED

that the Minutes of the meeting of the Licensing Committee held on 7 September 2016 be confirmed and signed by the Chairman as a correct record.

To receive any announcements from the Chairman and any matters of communication.

The Chairman advised that he had attended a Local Government seminar which addressed the Gambling Act and sought for evidence.  The Chairman was looking into the deadline date for responses.

To receive from Members any declarations of interest.

To receive any questions, statements or deputations from members of the public in accordance with the Public Participation Procedure as set out in Annex 1 of part A4 of the Constitution.

No Questions, Statements or Deputations were received.

To consider a report of the Director of Community Services seeking approval of Health and Safety work undertaken by the Public Protection Team in Central Bedfordshire.

The Committee received and considered a report of the Director of Community Services seeking approval of Health and Safety (as a regulator) Service Plan 2016-18.  A copy of which was appended to the report at Appendix A.

The Service Plan had been considered by this Committee at its meeting held on 7 September 2016.  At that meeting many concerns were raised concerning the content of the Service Plan.  The Service Plan had therefore been amended to take into account those concerns raised.  The Committee were now invited to consider the revised plan.

The Committee considered in detail the amended Service Plan and discussed areas of concern.

It was noted that the hyper links referred to in the report would not become live until the document was published on the Council’s web site.

RESOLVED

That the Health and Safety (as a Regulator) Service Plan 2016-18, now submitted, be approved and published on the Council’s web site.
