Cromer Way, Luton - Petition requesting Highways Improvements. pdf icon PDF 587 KB

To note the receipt of a petition submitted to Central Bedfordshire Council and suggest a way forward.

 

Decision:

1.    That the petition be noted.

2.    That the highway improvement measures within this HA area, recommended as part of the Luton Borough Council-designed scheme for Cromer Way be incorporated within CBCs Annual Highways Plan for 2018-19.

3.    That Officers review the additional submission provided by the lead petitioner to assess if any further action is merited.

4.    That Bedfordshire Police be requested to increase the level of enforcement of the 30mph speed limit.

5.    That the lead petitioner be notified of the outcome of the meeting.

To seek the approval for the introduction of a disabled space in Victoria Road, Linslade.

Decision:

1.    That the proposal to implement a Disabled Person’s Parking Space in Victoria Road, Linslade be implemented as published.

2.    That Officer’s ensure the requester is made aware that this space will be available for use by all blue badge holders on a first come first served basis.

3.    That the ongoing requirement for this Disabled Person’s Parking Space be reviewed every 5 years.

To seek the approval to restore two-way traffic in The Baulk, Biggleswade.

Decision:

1.    That the existing experimental one-way traffic order on The Baulk, Biggleswade is made permanent.

2.    That all changes necessary to make the existing arrangements permanent be completed by the autumn of 2018.

To seek the approval for the introduction of a disabled person’s parking space in Bury Road, Shillington.

Decision:

1.    That the Disabled Person’s Parking Space in Bury Road, Shillington be implemented as published.

2.    That Officer’s ensure that the Disabled Bay is located so as to minimise the impact on the number of parking spaces available within Bury Road, Shillington.

3.    That Officer’s ensure the requester is made aware that this space will be available for use by all blue badge holders on a first come first served basis.

4.    That the ongoing requirement for this for this Disabled Person’s Parking Space be reviewed every 5 years.

5.    That Officers review the possibility of converting amenity land in the area to parking.

Westoning Road, Harlington - Consider Objections to Waiting Restrictions and Traffic Calming Measures pdf icon PDF 662 KB

To seek the approval for the implementation of waiting restrictions and traffic calming measures in Westoning Road, Harlington.

Decision:

1.    That the implementation of waiting restrictions and traffic calming measures in Westoning Road, Harlington be implemented as published whilst being mindful of all road users including pedestrians and cyclists.

2.    That Officers consult with the resident with mobility issues on the placement of one of the raised tables to minimise the impact of its implementation on the resident.

3.    That the scheme is kept under review and the outcomes of its implementation are reported back to the Traffic Management Committee within one year.

To seek the approval for the implementation of waiting restrictions in High Street and Wallace Drive, Eaton Bray.

Decision:

1.    That the waiting restrictions in High Street and Wallace Drive, Eaton Bray are implemented as published:

-       High Street, north-east side, from a point in line with the boundary of no.25 High Street and no.2 Wallace Drive extending in a north-westerly direction for approximately 52 metres.

-       Wallace Drive, both sides, from the north-east kerb line of High Street extending in a north-easterly for approximately 15 metres.

2.    That the implementation of the waiting restrictions be reviewed after a maximum of one year to ensure that the extent of the restrictions are adequate.

To seek the approval to revise the extents of the residents’ permit parking scheme recently introduced for West Parade, Dunstable.

Decision:

That the extent of the resident’s permit parking scheme in West Parade Dunstable be extended to include 140 Chiltern Road.

Stuart Street, Dunstable - Revision to Extents of Resident's Permit Parking Scheme pdf icon PDF 274 KB

To seek approval to revise the extents of the residents’ permit parking scheme recently introduced for Stuart Street, Dunstable.

Decision:

1.    That the residents’ permit parking scheme in Stuart Street, Dunstable be extended to include 37 Clifton Road.

2.    That Officers ensure that residents are aware that:

i) that residents of Stuart Street in properties with off-street parking are eligible to apply for permits.

ii) there is no upper limit to the number of permits that a resident of Stuart Street can apply for.

3.    That Officers commission an area based assessment of the parking demand across North West Dunstable with the aim of bringing forward an integrated set of proposals to update/replace existing arrangements, with recommendations to be presented to this Meeting by the autumn of 2018.
