Clarence Road, Leighton Buzzard - Petition to Introduce Traffic Calming Measures to Prevent Speeding Vehicles pdf icon PDF 342 KB

To note the receipt of the petition and to discuss a way forward.

Decision:

1.    That the petition be noted.

2.    That Officers commission automatic traffic count surveys (ATC’s) in Clarence Road and investigate the feasibility of implementing traffic calming measures.

3.    That Officers ensure that any proposal is brought back to future Traffic Management Meeting.

4.    That the lead petitioner is notified of the outcome of this meeting.

Bus Shelter, Luton Road, Caddington - Petition pdf icon PDF 260 KB

To note the receipt of two petitions regarding the disused bus shelter on Luton Road, Caddington and to discuss an appropriate way forward.

Decision:

1.    That both petitions be noted.

2.    That Officers contact Caddington Parish Council requesting that a meeting take place before the 20 January 2019 to seek confirmation as to whether the bus shelter should be repurposed in a new location or demolished and disposed of.

3.    That Officers move forward with the removal of the bus shelter on Luton Road, Caddington, subject to confirmation from Caddington Parish Council as to whether the structure should be relocated to a more suitable location.

4.    That the lead petitioners be informed of the outcome of this meeting.

Chaul End Road, Caddington - Proposal to Install Rumble Strips in Chaul End Road, Caddington. pdf icon PDF 1 MB

To seek the approval for the implementation of rumble strips in Chaul End Road, Caddington.

Decision:

1.    That rumble strips in sets of varying numbers at a nominal height of 6mm extending across the width of the road stopping approximately 200mm from the edge of the carriageway, be implemented as published at the following location in Caddington:

-       Chaul End Road, at a point approximately 80 metres north of the junction of Mallard Crescent.

-       Chaul End Road, at a point approximately 80 metres south of the junction of Mallard Crescent.

2.    That Officers review the speed limit in this area at a later date.

To consider representations to proposed traffic calming, speed limit changes and waiting restrictions on various roads in Leighton Buzzard.

Decision:

1.    That the proposal to construct a raised table at a nominal height of 75mm and approximately 8 metres long, including ramps, extending across the full width of the road be implemented as published at the following location in Linslade:

-       Bunkers Lane, outside no.3 Southcott Village

-       Himley Green, outside no.57 Himley Green

-       Derwent Road, approximately 3 meters south-west of the south-west flank wall of no. 383 Derwent Road.

-       Derwent Road, approximately in line with the south-west flank of no. 63 Bideford Green.

5.    That the proposal to introduce a 20mph speed limit zone in Linslade be implemented as published.

6.    That the proposal to introduce a 20mph speed limit zone in Kendal Gardens, Linslade be advertised separately due to an error on the original notice and implemented as published. This is subject to Officers not receiving any objections to the proposal.

To seek approval to extend the existing 30mph speed limit and implement a 40mph speed limit through the Eggington bends, both of which are on the A4012 Leighton Road, Linslade.

 

 

Decision:

1.    That the proposal to introduce a 30mph speed limit be implemented as published at the following location in Hockliffe:

-       Leighton Road, from a point in line with the east boundary of no.139 Hockliffe Road, Leighton Buzzard extending in an easterly direction for approximately 560 metres.

2.    That the proposal to introduce a 40mph speed limit be implemented as published at the following location in Hockliffe:

-       Leighton Road, from a point approximately 560 metres east of a point in line with east boundary of no.139 Hockliffe Road, Leighton Buzzard extending in an easterly direction for approximately 780 metres.

To seek the approval for the implementation of traffic calming features and a 40mph buffer zone on the B4541 Whipsnade Road, Dunstable.

Decision:

1.    That rumble strips in sets of varying numbers at a nominal height of 6mm extending full width across the carriageway, be implemented as published at the following locations in Dunstable:

-       B4541 Whipsnade Road, starting at a point approximately 70m north of a point in line with the southern boundary of Craigwen (no.3) Whipsnade Road.

-       B4541 Whipsnade Road, starting at a point approximately 70m south of a point in line with the southern boundary of Craigwen (no.3) Whipsnade Road.

2.    That the proposal to introduce a 40mph speed limit, be implemented as published at the following locations in Dunstable:

-       Whipsnade Road, from a point in line with the northern boundary of nos.6 and 7 Royce Close extending in a southerly direction for approximately 290 metres.

3.    That Officers ensure that hedges are cut back around signage when installing the traffic calming measures in B4541 Whipsnade Road, Dunstable.

To seek approval for the implementation of revised waiting restrictions in Bullpond Lane, Dunstable outside Watling Lower School.

Decision:

1.    That the proposal to revoke existing No Waiting restrictions and replace with No Waiting on-Fri 08:00am to 09:30am and 2:30pm to 4:30pm be implemented as published on the following length of road in Dunstable:

-       Bull Pond Lane, south-west side, from a point approximately 1 metre north-west of a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of no.36 Bull Pond Lane extending in a north-westerly direction for approximately 57 metres to a point approximately 3 metres north-west of a point in line with the boundary of nos.32 and 32a Bull Pond Lane.

-       Bull Pond Lane, north-east side, from its junction with Hawthorn Close extending in a north-westerly direction for approximately 112 metres to a point approximately 8.5 metres south-east of a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of no.33 Bull Pond Lane.

-       Hawthorn Close, north-west side, from its junction with Bull Pond Lane extending in a north-easterly direction for approximately 11.5 metres.

2.    Officers to ensure that the correct enforcement and education of local residents takes place once the revised waiting restrictions are in place.

1.    That the proposal to introduce No Waiting at any time (24 hours) be implemented as published at the following location in Biggleswade:

Decision:

That the proposal to introduce No Waiting at any time (double yellow lines) be implemented as published at the following location in Stondon:

-       Station Road, north side, continuing from existing double yellow lines from a point approximately 2 metres south-west of a point in line with the boundary of nos199 and 201 Station Road extending in a south-westerly direction for approximately 33 metres.

-       Station Road, south side, continuing from existing double yellow lines from a point approximately 2 metres south-west of a point in line with the boundary of nos.199 and 201 Station Road extending in a south-westerly direction for approximately 4 metres.

-       Station Road, south side, from a point approximately 1 metre south-west of a point in line with the boundary of nos.197a and 197 Station Road extending in a south-westerly direction for approximately 16 metres.

Decision:

1.    That the proposal to introduce a 30mph speed limit be implemented as published at the following location in Chalton:

-       B579 Luton Road, from a point approximately 150 metres northwest of a point in line with the most northerly kerbline of the access to Baytree Park, Luton Road extending in a generally south-easterly direction to a point approximately 30 metres north-west of the centre of the B579 Toddington Road/Coverdale roundabout Luton.

2.    That the proposal to introduce a 40mph speed limit be implemented as published at the following location in Chalton:

-       B579 Luton Road, from its roundabout junction with Sundon Road M1 overbridge located east of the M1 motorway extending in a generally south-easterly direction to a point approximately 150 metres northwest of a point in line with the most northerly kerbline of the access to Baytree Park, Luton Road.
