Petition - Gritting of Church Road, Aspley Heath pdf icon PDF 30 KB

 

The purpose of this report is to present a petition received from residents of Aspley Heath requesting that Central Bedfordshire Council add Church Road to its Priority One salting network.

Decision:

The Portfolio Holder for Safer Communities and Healthier Lifestyles requested the following ways forward:-

a.      Officers to contact Milton Keynes Council to discuss gritting routes and Cambridgeshire Council to review vehicular options for gritting processes

b.      The parish council to consider alternative ways to improve access to the route including alternative parking both up the hill and at the turning point at the top of the hill.

Petition - To provide additional Speed Limits in the Parish of Eversholt pdf icon PDF 36 KB

 

The purpose of this report is to present a petition received from Eversholt Parish Council and signed by 183 signatories.

Decision:

The Portfolio Holder for Safer Communities and Healthier Lifestyles agreed that the installation of a 20mph speedlimit on Church end and part of Tyrells End should be costed to implement.  The other aspects of the petition including the reduction in speed on the C100 and the extension of 30mph roads are not feesible at the present time.  The Parish Council was asked to consider if they wished to contribute to the cost of the speed reductions. 

 

The Portfolio Holder for Safer Communities and Healthier Lifestyles explained to the meeting that LTP3 would run for three years and the first year would be directed towards the growth areas.  Non-growth areas would be considered during 2012/13 and 2013/14.

Bloomfield Drive & School Lane, Shefford - Resolution of objections to the proposed Prohibition of Waiting pdf icon PDF 2 MB

To report  to the Portfolio Holder for Safer and Stronger Communities the receipt of two objections to proposals for waiting restrictions in Bloomfield Drive and School Lane, Shefford and seek approval for the implementation of this scheme.

Decision:

The Portfolio Holder for Safer Communities and Healthier Lifestyles agreed to defer this item until the 21 April 2011 to allow the objectors the opportunity to attend the meeting and present their objections.
