Proposed Consultation on Traffic Calming Measures, Downs Road, Dunstable and Petition for Downs Road Traffic Calming Measures pdf icon PDF 87 KB

 

The report provides the Traffic Management Committee with details relating to the outcome of the temporary Downs Road Closure and to consider requests made within the petition.  The report seeks the approval of The Executive Member for Sustainable Communities – Services, Councillor Brian Spurr to consult local residents on a number of traffic calming options.

that, following consideration of the matters raised within the report and petition, the Executive Member for Sustainable Communities – Services grants permission to consult local residents on the five traffic calming options as identified and any additional recommendations from residents and Officers.

To consider the requests made within the petition and offers individual responses to the points raised for consideration.

Decision:

  1. that following consideration of the matters raised within the report and petition, by the Executive Member for Sustainable Communities – Services, the lead petitioner be informed that further actions are as set out in the report.
  2. that Ward Members and Sandy Town Councillors be encouraged to give appropriate priority to these requests in the next version of the Local Area Transport Plan (LATP).
  3. that the Highways Agency be asked to consider the outcomes of the forthcoming study where it concerns the junction of New Road and A1.

The purpose of this report is to present a petition received from Shillington Parish Council and signed by 93 signatories.

This report seeks the approval of the Executive Member for Sustainable Communities - Services for the introduction of 40mph speed limit on the junction of Beancroft Road, Bedford Road, Roxhill Road and Marston Hill, Marston Moretaine.

Decision:

1.      that the proposal to introduce 40mph speed limit on Beancroft Road, Bedford Road junction, Marson be agreed as advertised but not implemented until the extra section on Marston Hill be advertised to reduce to 40mph speed limit also.

 

2.      that the requested speed limits on adjacent lengths of road be assessed.

To report  to the Executive Member for Sustainable Communities Services the receipt of objections to proposals for traffic calming measures on lengths of High Street and other roads in Cranfield and seek approval for the implementation of this scheme.

Decision:

that the proposal to construct traffic calming measures on High Street and other roads in Cranfield be implemented as set out in the report.

Poplar Close, Leighton Buzzard - Resolution of objections to the proposed Controlled Parking Zone and Prohibition of Waiting pdf icon PDF 600 KB

To report  to the Executive Member for Sustainable Communities Services the receipt of objections to proposals for Controlled Parking Zone and Prohibition of Waiting on lengths of Poplar Close, Leighton Buzzard and seek the Executive Member’s views.

Decision:

that a Controlled Parking Zone with a  Prohibition of Waiting Monday to Friday from 08.30am to 09.30am and 3.00pm to 4.00pm (single yellow lines) be implemented on the whole length of Poplar Close.
