The Leighton Buzzard bypass is a dangerous road, a section of this road from the junction for Totternhoe to the junction with Billington Road is set at 50mph. This section has speed cameras fitted but disappointingly they are obviously empty and have been so they were replaced a few years ago, as this is now well known this speed limit is mostly ignored.
Too many accidents have occurred on this stretch of road, sadly some have been fatalities.
I ask the council, how many more people have to die on this road before safety improvements are implemented? How many more people are going to get the knock on their door from the police that nobody wants?

Leighton Buzzard is a fast growing town, this road will have more traffic in the next five years but it has seen no new safety improvements in the last ten years. Now is the time to take action and implement improvements by listening to the local residents.
