Pedestrian Crossing on Hockliffe Road, Leighton Buzzard
We the undersigned petition the council to Put an additional pedestrian crossing on Hockliffe Road to enable families/residents to cross the road safely. It’s not always easy for young families or those with disabilities to walk the long distance to crossings either end of the road. Cars speed down the road and do not stop allowing families/residents to safely cross. The road also has children who attend high school and middle school needing to cross but having to dart between traffic to get to the other side which is not safe. An additional crossing will make it easier for residents and families to safely cross the road and perhaps also help to reduce cars speed on the road too.
While Hockliffe Road is a main road into town, it is also important to remember that while lorries and cars speed down it, residents do live inside those houses and need to cross the road to access their vehicles. Therefore an additional crossing would be helpful to residents for ease - and safety.
